that. just. happened.
Okay, two things, really quick[ly]:
1. Season 5 of The L Word is upon us, and in honor of that -- and to get everyone super stoked for our upcoming L Word recaps -- Riese and Haviland and I have made some awesome vlogs, so go check them out.
2. This just happened: my parents and I were in the car, driving home from dinner (sushi, yum), and as we pulled into our neighborhood, my mom changed the radio station. Begin scene:
The radio suddenly changes back to the previous station.Aaaaaand ... end scene!
Me: Dad, did you just change the radio back?
Dad: (snickering) Well I didn't like what mom put on.
Dad settles on a station playing a Dido song.
Mom: How is this better? Now we have to listen to Dido.
Dad: More like 'dildo.'
Silence.
Mom: I cannot believe you just said that.
Me: Oh my god.
Dad parks the car in the driveway.
Dad: What? What the hell kind of name is 'Dido' anyway?
Me: I have to get out of this car right now.
Dad: Oh, did I get her?
Mom: I think so.
Me: I have no words. I have to go inside. This is totally going in my blog.

we trick the train to stay on track
I'm not dead, just busy.
My uber-partner-in-crime Riese just posted our joint reviews of the Tegan and Sara / Northern State show last night, it's a great read (if you like vapid-sounding run on sentences from two alcoholics). It's here, and it's great.
Lots of awesome things on the horizon, I'm excited just thinking about them.

South of Nowhere recap The First
Riese recently asked me to help her recap episodes of Season 3 of South of Nowhere, which premiered this past Friday. Obviously I said "YES" because if there is one thing I am good at it is watching TV and commenting on it (usually during the show, as all of my very patient friends can attest to). Her recap of the hour-long season premiere is now up and it features snarky comments from ME. South of Nowhere is a nice filler for hot gay recappery until The L Word starts again and while we work on getting our tv show on the air (or on the internet -- details coming soon!).

together we are rock
tonight:
- cesar and my parents and i saw grey gardens a day before it closes. it was awesome.
- cesar and i got crazy drunk and barhopped some seriously gay locales in midtown. i almost beat up a gay boy after a misunderstanding at Posh. I bumped his arm and his beer spilled all over me and my favorite shirt and I apologized genuinely, and he was a dick and his friend said, "he's kidding," and with this super bitch face I said, "he'd better be." Then we saw them later at Therapy and he tried to stare me down but like, puh-leeze, I could totally have taken him and I can't take anyone.
- we met up with Riese at Nation and that was the first time that Cesar met Riese and it was super fun times as I requested "Walk it out" for Cesar and then had no game with girls and we were really sweaty and drank more.
- in our quest for more alcohol and cheesecake (?) we ended up at an adult video store (Riese, what was the name of it? I can't remember) and were subsequently thrown out after taking pictures on a camera phone. Fantastic!
- I'm drunk right now writing this and will probs. erase it come morning. I bought things today. I love shopping. New glasses and new shoes and I am content.

These fat-free meringues are perfection!
So. It has occurred to me that a pretty significant thing has been going on the past few weeks and I have yet to talk about it. Probably because -- between this and my friends/family and trying to go to as many lesbian bars in new york as possible and work -- I have no time to do much anymore. Watch TV, write on here, read other blogs ... it's all fallen by the wayside. Hopefully I can catch up this week (hopefully). But right now I feel that this is important, so I'm going to write in my hottt blogggg (P.S. I really don't like the word "blog," just want to get that out of the way. P.P.S. I wish some of you mystery readers would comment, my 3 commenters are lonely).
Anyway. So Riese and I have been writing a gay sitcom. And, not to toot my/our own horn or anything, but it's really good. Definitely unlike anything else on TV. It's Arrested Development meets the OC meets < insert name of anything gay here >. It's called Living It Out and we're really, really proud of it.
So we wrote the pilot. And then there was the cruise (which I did not go on), where they held the reading (which I was not present for). Then we got massive amounts of feedback, revised the pilot for one last time (dear god I hope so), registered it with the Writer's Guild, and started sending it off to Very Important People.
I am one of those people who Dreams Big. The only problem is, I rarely follow through. This is one of those rare times where everything fell into place (timing, motivation, location, awesomeness), and things are totally working out and happening really fast. And when (not "if") this gets greenlit, I'm hiring all of my friends to work on it. Because one of my life-long dreams has been to own my own company where all of us had a job and we all worked together and collaborated and were awesome under one roof together, every day.

an update, an apology
In the past two weeks I have:
- Gayed it up pretty well.
- Co-authored a TV pilot teleplay. No, seriously. Read more about that here.
- Unpacked my life after my move home.
- Gotten myself more work.
- Kept busy (clearly).
- Tried not thinking as an alternative.
- Apparently garnered many new readers. Hi, new readers! Look, I have a Statcounter, I know these things. So why don't you all start commenting and then I'll be motivated to post more, k? And I promise I'll always comment back.
- Seriously, though, I have definitely fallen behind on posting and I'm sorry but life just got all crazy. Road trip diary day 2 is almost done and I have heard that there are audio issues with the first day. Apparently the sound works if you go to the actual Youtube sites for each video, so try that if it doesn't work. I think I broke Youtube, is what happened.
